Prediction
Answer Options
This prediction is about US core PCE inflation for September 2026: the seasonally adjusted change over 12 months in the price index for personal consumption expenditures without food and energy, as published by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). YES if that rate is exactly 2.9%; otherwise NO. The number comes from the BEA's Personal Income and Outlays release covering September 2026, scheduled for 29 October 2026 at 8:30 AM ET, which gives the rate with one decimal place; that one-decimal value is used just as printed. The headline PCE price index covering all items does not count. If the BEA does not put out the figure on the scheduled day, settlement waits until the next Personal Income and Outlays release is due; if the figure is still missing at that point, the figure for the most recent earlier month with published data is used instead. The official BEA release decides.
