This market resolves to “Yes” if, between market creation and the specified date at 11:59 PM Gulf Standard Time, the United Arab Emirates officially announces or formally communicates its decision to withdraw from the Gulf Cooperation Council. Otherwise, it resolves to “No.” A qualifying official announcement or formal communication means a statement by the UAE government, or by an entity formally authorized to make such a decision, that clearly conveys the UAE’s decision to leave the GCC. This includes, but is not limited to, a notice of denunciation or a comparable official statement, regardless of when the withdrawal would actually take effect. Informal comments, unattributed reporting, and leaked information will not qualify. The primary resolution source will be official information from the UAE government and the GCC, though a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
