YES applies if Washington initiative IL26-638, which would restrict participation in certain school sports according to biological sex, is approved by voters at the Washington statewide general election scheduled for 3 November 2026. NO applies if voters reject it, if the vote on it does not take place, or if its outcome is not definitively known by 31 March 2027 at 11:59 PM ET. Only this ballot result matters: a limit brought in any other way, for example by lawmakers, a school-sports body or a court, does not count, and later court challenges or a failure to put an approved measure into effect do not change a YES. Results as reported by reliable news outlets decide; if they are unclear or conflict, only official State of Washington information decides, including results from the Washington Secretary of State.
